Heart rate monitors help you train at your optimum level
At Priority we use heart rate monitors to help us regulate your training in a safe and controlled way.
During your fitness sessions, the monitor shows your actual heart rate, your average heart rate, and calories burned. It also shows your personal high and low zones, which indicate if you are working out at an effective but safe level.
The general rule for cardio-vascular training is to train between 60% and 80% of your maximum heart rate. Your maximum heart rate is 226 – your age in years. 60% of this figure is your low-zone and 80% is your high-zone.
If you train within your optimal individual intensity range, you can burn up to 500 extra calories per hour!
